Sky Steel

Beyond the sky lies the realm of the gods, dwelling in a land few men ever imagine. Yet, once in every lifetime, a piece of that divinity falls to our realm to bestow untold power on anyone who can harness it. - Norrian Elder
Considered the most valued and desired metal in the known world, Sky Steel, as its name implies, comes from the vast blue sky above the earth. Many wonder how this is possible since there is no earth up in the sky; many have considered it an act of divinity from beyond it. Often coming in the form of a ball of fire that crashes into the earth and leaves an ore so valued that wars have been fought for just a sliver of it.

History

Metal From The Heavens

Tales of stars falling from the sky have been told as long as men have been able to speak, and the reward of those able to claim their power should they find them when they have fallen to the world. Such is the history of Sky Steel as a blessing and a curse to all who come to claim it for their own, for many shall attempt to claim it by any means. Left in its original form, this metal can lead to many possibilities for those who can imagine it, and those already made in another image can be used by anyone who can use it. It is why conflict is often common when many seek out this special steel. Despite being only found in small amounts, it can easily tip the balance of power if placed in the right hands. The real question is, will they live long enough to see their ambitions come to fruition when someone else comes to take it from them?

Everyday use

Weapon Forging: Anyone who has found a way to mold Sky Steel to their will can create powerful weapons that are lighter and stronger, cutting through most armor and materials to make their wielders a force to reckon with in battle.   Armor Making: While rare to find a complete set of armor made of Sky Metal, it is not impossible to make a shield or a smaller piece of armor to protect themselves that is near impenetrable to most weapon and even magic a times.   Magic Augmenting: Magic has been known to have its uses for Sky Metal as well as its unusually attributes can be used to enhance a spells capabilities and to increase their power by adding it staffs and wands.   Religious Worship: Considering that the Sky Metal hails from beyond the sky some cultures consider the metal be sacred and open worshipped as a divine relic often put in a place of worshipped unalterd or turned into a symbol of faith to honor deities.

Cultural Significance and Usage

Metal of Divinity

Sky Metal has long been considered a piece of the divine realm of gods for centuries. Though all claims come from their faith, the results remain the same either way, leaving a metal that grants power to anyone who can get their hands on it. Its limited amount due to being not of this world is all the more reason that it is sought after. To sell it would grant them riches than they can possibly imagine and to forge it would create items that would make them a force to reckon with. It just a matter of when or where it will land and the race for this otherworldly metal will bring about anyone will to aquire it.

Every time Sky Metal fall from the sky it comes in the shape of a fireball and crashes into the earth. Depending on the size it can destroy anything to crashes into on the way down and the area around its impact. Smaller one are not as dangerous, but larger ones will destroy everything around it and cause the earth to shake.

A good mix of highly dangerous and highly desirable. I would like to see more on the destruction part and more nuance. Who have bad opinion on it and why ? What about the people whose habitation / family have been injured by the crashes ? Anyhow it was great reading about it, thank you for publishing it !
