The world of Urth is a diverse place where you can find ancestries of all shapes, sizes, and shades. Just because an ancestry gives some flavor descriptions of such does not represent all individuals who share that ancestry. That said, there are certain physical manifestations which are unmistakable such as an elf’s pointed ears, the horns of an ogrekin or the third eye of a paxan. Each characteristic has varying degrees of prominence, but all are noticeable to those who view them.
Each ancestry has qualities that tie into their ancestral abilities. All those of an ancestry share these abilities. Some choose to embrace them, others to reject them. That too is part of your story.
Ancestries may favor certain Approaches. This is simply a note to help players design their characters. It is intended to provide the player and Story Guide with some over-generalizations about the ancestry. Your character’s story may embrace this or not. It is entirely valid and appropriate to design a dwarf who is uses AGILE and FLAIR to accomplish their feats just as you are welcome and encouraged to imagine your Solinari elf uses TOUGH and GUILE.
