The Separation

The Great War Before All Wars, the Separation was the final confrontation amongst the Gods themselves, vying for power after The Six defeated the Fireborn, and Hrothmund refused to mantle them as the new Lord of Creation.

Summary

After the Great Dragon's fall, Hrothmund, the victor of the confrontation, was able to Mantle the Fireborn, Creation Incarnate, who oversaw the weaving and unwinding of time and space. Instead of mantling him, Hrothmund gifted Adaliah, Goddess of Time and Fate, with the Title and the power, enabling her fair nature and sense of balance to become more powerful, creating the Balance that reality knows today.   With her crowning, many Lords and kingdoms disagreed, some calling her to weak to rule Creation and others fighting for her. Also known as the First High War, the campaign that followed resulted in the eternal deaths of many gods, their power and domains becoming part of the Victors. To put an end to the violence and save Creation from the High War, Hrothmund proclaimed enough blood had been spilt, and with the help of his allies, tore apart the fabric of reality, unmaking the physical connection to the remaining continents and kingdoms. In doing so, the Realms were created, and they began to slowly drift away from each other, seemingly never to encounter another realm again. It was here that each of the remaining four proclaimed how their successors should be chosen, for Adaliah to uphold and ensure would occur.

Historical Basis

The Separation actually did occur, but not as grand as it seemed- Countless Lords died, but they were not as Mighty as the Children of Drakaris, or more accurately, the Six. It was in fact a slaughter, not a true war. Convergence Scholars, who have recorded the happenings of each Convergence since the first, even report that Hrothmund did not participate in the battle, who thought of it as dishonorable and cowardly to slay those weaker than him. The other Lords are reported to only be doing it out of necessity.

Spread

The myth in which the Six were called the Children of Drakaris itself is common place throughout Ragnias, however its historical basis is vastly unknown, highly due to the 3000 years spanning between each Convergence.
