Ásbjörn, God of Strength
King Ásbjörn (a.k.a. Heir of the God-King)
Secondborn child of Hrothmund, the God of War and Ingemar, Goddess of Thunder, Ásbjörn was their firstborn son, Hrothmund stating that it would be he who inherited the Throne, knowing that his eldest child, Deirdre, gave up her claim to it. Ásbjörn was and is still a tremendously powerful warrior, often sparring with his father to a stalemate. He earned his godhood by killing one of the Great Dragon's mortal kin, known as Hiryur, who had terrorized the northern lands for centuries after his cousins defeat at the hands of Hrothmund, locking his hand around the dragons neck before breaking its spine and tearing it from Hiryur's body, sending him crashing into the side of a mountain, where the dragons fire melted a hole in the earth and made the volcanic Ebony Peaks.

Specialized Equipment
Unlike many warriors, Ásbjörn opted out of using blades for combat, instead having his brother, Sindri, God of the Forge, drill into his finger bones at his knuckles, and screw in pointed metal studs, allowing him to use more of his godly strength against his foes.

Personal history
Born two years after the fall of the Great Dragon, Ásbjörn was immediately realized to be gifted in physical strength, strangling a drake that had been flying above his mother giving birth, hoping for a quick and easy meal, with his bare hands. Hrothmund, having immediately seen the potential in his first son, raised him as a warrior, not even bothering to train him with weapons and focusing on unarmed combat, called Sterkarmur. At 9, he killed his first monster- an adolescent Deep Mountain Drake, breaking one of its horns and using it to stab the Drake in the throat. Even before becoming a man at the age of 15, Ásbjörn was fighting and brutally pummeling every mentor he was given, totaling almost thirty, and fought his father to a stalemate when Hrothmund wished to truly test his son when he did become a man.
At seventeen, Ásbjörn was a hero to Hrothmund's people- he'd single-handedly slew Hiryur with his bare hands and took the dragon's skull as a trophy. Hrothmund then asked Adaliah to make his son a God, and she did. Naming him the God of Strength, Ásbjörn became a household name throughout the Old Kingdom and a pinnacle of what every mortal should strive to be. However, his hubris would one day be his downfall.
When Ásbjörn was instructed by his father to find a Storm Colossus at the center of the sea, Ásbjörn took it upon himself to slay the creature. Hrothmund was disappointed with him as his son returned bearing the heart of the Colossus, as the Storm Colossus was Olvaldr, who was charged by the Fireborn during his reign as Creation Incarnate to hold up the sky for all eternity as punishment for daring to rise against him. Hrothmund was trying to help Olvaldr by crafting a pillar made of stone from his body- the same type of stone that was once mounted to the Great Dragon, making him impervious to time and any causal forces of reality. As punishment, Hrothmund charged Ásbjörn with the same duty, chaining him by the ankles to the body of Olvaldr, who was so large that even Ásbjörn could not lift him, and forcing him to bear the entire weight of the sky.
When Hrothmund ascended and built the Halls of Valor, Ingemar revealed that his father did indeed feel that his sentence was fulfilled, and crafted the pillar as he was initially going to build. Relieved of his former duty, Ásbjörn was humbled, and then ascended to his father's Throne and ruling for a century. Ásbjörn's mortal form expired on the field of battle, waging war against an army of giants that threatened the Old Kingdom. He was caught in a storm of arrows and received a spear to the heart. Legends say that he continued fighting until the last bit of blood left his body, killing countless enemy giants in return, before he collapsed and ascended to the Halls of Valor.
