Red & Alice
Appearance
Red Woolf is a thin, gangly young woman with fluffy brown hair and yellow eyes. She usually wears casual clothes, particularly hoodies and jeans. She is partial to wearing skirts at home, on account of her wolf tail. Her ears extend past the sides of her head to resemble wolf ears, finely tipped with fuzzy brown hair. One of them has been pierced with a gold ring earring, courtesy of Alice. In her wolf form she is a brown-furred Dire Wolf, larger than the average dog but a runt by both wolf and Dire Wolf standards. Alice Jameson is a portly young woman with wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. She is known for wearing sundresses on any occassion that will allow it, and blouses the rest of the time. She has no outwardly inhuman features, though her aura is "a bit brighter than even most Witches," according to Red.Background
Red and Alice met during their days spent at community college, though they would both eventually drop out for their own reasons. Red had a crush on Alice but was initially rejected, and the two eventually went their separate ways when Red dropped out of college due to a depressive episode. While she had dropped out of school, she continued to work at her part-time job and tried to convince her parents that she was still attending. Alice, on the other hand, completed most of her degree before deciding to pursue her family's history in Witchcraft as a full-time profession. A year after dropping out, Red very nearly attempts suicide by jumping from the roof of her apartment building. She resists at the last moment, and follows a strange lead; her old college crush Alice, offering positions for a Witch's familiar. She uses most of her remaining funds to travel out-of-state and make contact with Alice, who agrees to give her a fresh start as a familiar. After several trials and tribulations, Red nearly dies a second time when she collies head-first with her old life and the spell keeping her new identity together fails. Choosing her life with Alice over what she left behind, she embraces her new identity and begins anew. Together, Alice and Red work as medical-magical consultants specializing in rare supernatural conditions.Trivia
Red's deadname is Oliver. Alice originally gave her the nickname "Red" when she tried to dye her hair and ended up with neon red hair for a few weeks, and Red used that distinct memory as the inspiration for her new identity. Playing off of the imagery of Red Riding Hood, she named herself Red Wolf— though she later added an extra "o" to her last name in reference to Virginia Woolf. It is unknown what her original last name was. Alice and Red have an unusually romantic connection for a Witch-familiar pair. Red describes their relationship as "basically college sweethearts, with a few extra steps." Alice has decided to adopt Red's last name Woolf when they get married, "although it's probably a bit too early to be planning things like that."Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
