The King
- This is a very board man. Not with his wife, but she's always busy running the country. He really has nothing to do, but sit and look pretty. He has no hobbies, he should have one and everyone tries to find ones to interest him, but none have stuck. He have no talent for anything.
- He grew up rich, everything was done for him and anyone he played with always let him win so he never allied himself to anything. Everything was smooth sailing and he never experienced any rough seas.
- As am adult everyone was intimidated by his power and money. The only ones who aren't are the Queen, Shawn the Jester, and Princess Lisa. The Queen has no time for his bullshit. The Jester feels sorry for him. The Princess sees him more as a friend than as an authority figure.
- Mostly the King listens to anyone and everyone. He likes stories and hearing about people's live, but to him it's like reading a book. Everything they say is all well and good, but it feels like fiction. He has never had any of these experiences, he can't relate to anything people say.
Relationships
History
This is a penny-princess situation. The King was a very rich man who was very board and he thought it would be fun to be a king and the country needed money very badly, so the Queen married him. They are very awkward around each other, but they are faithful to each other and do admire each other at times. They don't have much of an emotional connection, they do have a physical one and flirt all the time with each other.
History
The only person he ever finds interesting is his daughter as the world is new and interesting to her. He likes to check in on her and see what she's doing, what's she learning. And he's very glad that she's more like her mother instead of like him. She'll sit there and think of solutions to problems instead of just giving up (at first) or having someone else fix it for her, though she does get frustrated easily. He loves her very much and is very proud of her. Though sometimes he can see that she, too, is spoiled and entitled just like him and it makes him worry. His greatest fear is that she'll turn out like him.
History
Shawn feels more like a friend to the King than just another employee. He feels sorry for him. Everyone treats the King like a big baby, except Shawn. He knows the King is just a man stuck in a gilded cage, more like the Queen's pet than a man. More like a jester than a king, except the Jester has a job to do. Shawn's happy when he can make the King laugh, but most of the time they just talk and Shawn tells him stories form his journeyman days in other lands. They end up hanging out a lot, actually.
