Auralana Rylin

Fitness: Auralana kept in shape, but living in a time of peace, did not have the level of training and fitness as other members of her family.

Agility: She was noted for her highly agile fighting style, using her speed to offset her smaller size.

Typical of Elven heritage, she had a sharper face and pointy ears. Her stark almond-shaped green eyes identified her at a glance as a member of House Rylin. She had strawberry blonde hair, often kept in an intricate braid.

Auralana was the third wielder of the Rylin family sword Dawn, inheriting the blade upon the death of her great-grandfather Aurathir.

Early Life

Auralana was born to Aurabor Rylin in the 680th year of the Age of Restoration during the reign of her great-grandfather Aurathir Rylin. Given the four generations, there was no guarantee that she would take the throne, allowing her to have a more relaxed childhood than the first few generations of the dynasty. This allowed her to invest in her education and study at Uisge University in Mauribon.

At the age of 27, in the midst of studying theology and law, the death of Aurathir to the Shadow's Consumption led to her grandfather ascending to the Stewardship and her father ascending to the position of Winter Warden. She remained at the university for another 8 years before serving as an aide to her grandfather, assisting with the research efforts that he sought to continue.

Envoy to the Men of Siorain

As part of her grandfather's efforts to formally establish foreign relations, Auralana served as an envoy to the kingdom of men on the eastern edge of the continent and spent several years negotiating trade agreements and a formal alliance with the ancient allies of the Enclaves. She served as the first ambassador between the Enclaves and Siorain, remaining in the eastern capital of Aelagrad for an additional 20 years before returning home with her family.

Time as the Winter Warden

With the death of her father in the 1,427th year of the Age of Light, she formally took over the position of Winter Warden and joined the Council of Mauribon, representing the Lin Malion. She used her knowledge of trade to secure trade deals with the Dwarves of the North and the noble Houses of the Lin Malion.

Steward of the Seasons

Auralon II's death in 1,504 brought her ascention to the Stewardship at the age of 824. During her tenure, she used her knowledge of trade to formalize the trade routes her grandfather and she had established centuries earlier.

Additionally, the Maiden's Law faced its first major challenge under her reign, when a Marshall committed treason on the suggestion of her firstborn son Aurasen, resulting in him being put on trial, and the possibility of the death penalty was brought up. As the Steward, she oversaw the official trial and ultimately determined that in extreme scenarios of treason that led to the death of others, the death penalty could be considered. It was established that only the Steward of the Seasons had the authority to execute one of the Elemental Elves, and the Council of Mauribon could check this power by vetoing the sentence.

End of Her Life

Due to the political machinations of her heir Aurasen, she made the difficult decision to skip him in the line of succession, making her second son, Alasdair, the Winter Warden and future Steward.

Auralana received a primary education typical of members of House Rylin.

She completed her studies at Uisge University and achieved mastery in Law and Theology.
