The Burned

As seen in

Geography

All burned share a few commonalities that are not present on The Cradle. Specifically, these planets are burned to the point where no life is able to survive on, some of the planets were so well heated by Syn that they were briefly small suns until they cool enough to form crusts once more.

Almost as a form of course they usually exhibit vast areas of burned earth and molten crusts. Endless pyroclastic canyons, great inland seas of incandescent fire. Oceans that long boiled away, vast salt planes where water once was. The sheer amount of heat and the incredible damaging volcanic activity on these worlds leave very little chance to harbor life.

Due to these planets having been the forge in which Syn sought to keep every last Child that was not on the frontline from succumbing to the infection that had been spreading across the universe with at an exponential rate, their atmospheres are filled with toxic gases and heavy metals. As the tectonic plates of each world vaporized in the heat, they added their material to the skies. In hopes that this would limit the spread of the infection.

Very few instances of Burned having recovered to any meaningful extent, exist. The few that do exist harbor strange alien life that had no part in the creations of The Quartet. Having formed on their own, though this is predominantly because no matter how hard the Shadows tried to hold life in an iron grip, the Divine nature of life given to them by the Quartet is persistent.
