The Godship's Voz

"Vex may be here, but at least there's no Voz, right? ...Right..? Why are you giving me that look?? Oh god, she's made one here, hasn't she? I'm never coming out of my room, hide me. I'm not singing." -Maifania (Violet)

Purpose / Function

Voz, in any place, is meant to be a saving grace to those who have lost their way in life. And, once they gain enough members, they will sing to bring peace to the world. It doesn't matter if a god must worship another, likely lesser god, Vex will wipe their memories and make them worship her, the goddess of control. The Voz on The Godship was established to spread Vex's message of sing-songy peace. After all, if gods follow her, the mortals will have no choice but to follow. And if every mortal follows her, then Voz can sing even The Cosmos into peace.

Sensory & Appearance

Voz is elegant and warm. As cavernous as it is, it still feels like love, smell of freshly baked goods and all. The lighting is dim and comfortable, a soft piano melody echoing through the temple when empty, and, when inhabited, a chorus that is both forlorn and cheery at the same time swirls around the walls.

Alterations

Over time, Vex has slowly made Voz more and more aligned with her ideals. More places for people to sing, better acoustics, and her rules of faith on the walls. She can make it perfectly her own when dealing with memoryless mortals, but gods who can view her realm without having their memories erased by the spores are much more likely to destroy her progress if she makes the changes drastically.

Architecture

Voz is pretty and white, rimmed with gold. The ceilings are the tall grandeur of Victorian churches, painted with faeries and sheet music. There are no seats, only the choir. The small altar hastily constructed by some of her loyal followers was but an afterthought. In the center of the room is an orchestra pit, just open enough that everyone can see the conductor. The acoustics throughout the Godship's Voz are incredible. A mere, quiet voice could ring though the temple and be heard through the door. A thousand voices can ring throughout the entire Godship if it's a quiet day.

Defenses

Anyone with ill intent sets off an invisible teleportation trap when they get ten feet away from the building.

History

Once upon a time, on the largest continent on the Dual Cobras, a young mortal woman was sentenced to death for heresy for her prayers to the yet widely unseen god of music instead of the prominent god of war. While being held in prison, awaiting her execution, the god of music, Ballad, took pity on her and brought the woman to a floating island called Voz. There, she built a temple to pray to the god who saved her, for Ballad had none on the world below. When an artificial human hid away in the forest under Voz, escaping from the god of intellect, Vex took her into the temple, resolving to make Voz a place for those to escape from the horrors of the world. But as Voz grew, so did Vex's greed. More people living there, more religion, more of her ideals, more peace, less conflict, less Ballad, more her, more songs, more peace, more Voz. There was so much Voz it became her personality.

And when she went to the Godship for the first time, Voz just had to follow her. She convinced the god of architecture to replicate the beauty of Voz on the Godship so more people could be saved, so more peace could reign.

If she was allowed anywhere other than Hunig and the Godship, Voz would go there too.
