The Evangelical Solarian Church
Divine Origins
As humanity began its expansion to the stars, many realized how much attention older generations of humans gave to their homeworld's star, Sol. Sun god worship is one of the earliest forms of religion, after all, and is what ties humanity to its roots the most. Solarians started out as just a small cult that was based around one simple fact: all energy in the system originated from the Sun, including the very existence of humans. Their ideologies quickly drew the attention of more followers (especially since, at the time, humanity was beginning to figure out FTL travel). Now, Invictus Sol has become an established religion with a couple hundred million members. It has grown to become a polytheistic, star-worshipping religion. The Ivory Confederation, in fact, has adopted the ESC as their official reli Igion.
Worship
The Solarians practice a form of astrology not too different from what it is today. When they are at a church, group practices include sunbathing meditation, extensive training and practice in agriculture and hydroponics, sermons, and donating plant seeds to the poor.
Priesthood
The rank of High Gardener is granted to a person that controls an entire church, leads sermons, and is the main caretaker of the growing plants in the church's farm. All of their acolytes, the people who simply work at the church, are known as Gardeners. There are ten Chief Gardeners spread throughout known space, and although they don't directly control the High Gardeners, they do have power over them. They respond directly to a mysterious figure known as The Master Gardener, who supposedly lives on the fringes of the Ivory Confederation's governed worlds. No one knows his real name, but the title is handed down dynastically. Currently, he is known as Sapphire IV.
