Longer, usually six to eight letters

The Lesser Clans of Clan Waverider are plentiful. Given the heritage of breaking off to form their own society it is not uncommon for a second child with enough acclaim and wealth to request leave to form their own branch of the Clan. The new lesser clan takes a family name that will honor where they came from.

Those of Clan Waverider who do things of particular note or fame can be known by a surname the honor that.

Where traditional dwarves usually opt for heavy steel armor this is impractical shipboard. Leather is far more preferred. In warmer climes Loose cotton tunics and breeches were warn under armor. Thicker wool becomes the norm in colder climates.

Waverider Dwarves is a matriarchal society. While males can rise to Captain a Beardspike and two have become Admirals in the History of the Clan they can hold no position of leadership in either the Lesser Clans or the Greater Clan. All such positions are to be held by a female

Waverider Dwarves do not do shy. If one likes another than you are expected to make that known otherwise your feelings will be called into question due to obvious lack of conviction to stand for those feelings.
