Personal history
Tythen IV was the son of King Tythen III, the last great Serk-rider. Tythen did not share his father's spirit of adventure, and allowed the remaining Serks to be hunted to extinction during his reign.
Tythen was present at the Second Signing of the Treaty of Waidako in 1 PT at Waidako as the leader of the Southern Mountain's delegation. The Treaty confirmed him as overlord of Ogre's Gap, although the other lords were not his vassals. Tythen was also forced into a commercial agreement with the Republians for protection under the Treaty.
Tythen lost the ancestral Yordt blade, Camuril, whilst fighting the King of Barmköne in the west of his domain, causing him great dishonour. The blade did not reemerge for another few hundred years.
Tythen was widely regarded by contemporaries as a craven, but it is more likely that he was simply incompetent and dominated by his wife, Anett. Anett was from the Giib people, a race of settlers from the Ghassi basin who arrived independently of the Ghassi. She kept his affairs in order and managed the day-to-day running of the kingdom.
Tythen had four children with Anett, three daughters and one son, Yyn. Tythen died bedridden in 38 PT.
