Idol of Dzurazjun
History
The Idol of Dzurazjun was a statue to the god Dzurazjun built by Jadar þát Culuuc in his new home of Teđát after his defeat of the Empire of Ghassum at the Siege of Ludox Arcius.
The idol was made out of silver and lead from melted Ghasscari coins from the treasury of Ludox Arcius. The idol pictured Dzurazjun holding a Źuk in one hand by his side and a burning imperial wreath wreath in the other, held aloft. The idol was made from soldered together plates wrapped around a stone mould of the statue. This used traditional Bu'uriath craft techniques as well as Ghasscari tools to create one of the largest and most refined pieces of Bu'uriath art to date.
The idol was placed at the centre of a shrine near to the Palace of Verguń in Teđát. The shrine was host to many religious ceremonies in Teđát and offerings from visiting nobles were often laid at the foot of the idol or hung on nails around the shrine. The shrine and idol were symbolic of Jadar þát's conquest of the Ghasscari and the assimilation of Ghasscari culture as the Bu'uriath settled in North Quentar.
After the fire of 600 AT, the Idol was moved to a new shrine in the eponymous town of Dzurazjuń.
