Barstowe Clarke
As to Barstowe himself, he prefers the life of a blunt instrument, and portrays that, but those that know him know that there are depths to him barely beneath the surface. He has strong opinions on a few things- weapons and fighting, and has a code of honor developed from spending time around Archer and things in his long gone youth that makes his outlook hard to grapple with- many people have died thinking they knew him, but finding out they really didn't. One personality trait that one takes for granted at their own peril is his loyalty to Archer.
Relationships
History
Barstowe and Archer served together in the brush wars before the fall, and during the bad years during the fall in the resistance against transhuman and TITAN, enduring horrors together than they never speak of. During that time, Archer saved Barstowe's life. Not in the way that soldiers had their backs, but something intensely personal that they never speak of. The remnant of that is a bond that hasn't since been broken, and a sense of loyalty. Barstowe knows that though he has more experience, that Archer is the more adept of the two, and follows him in everything, putting his opinions and morals above his own. He's a simple man, one that has his boss's back, fully trusts him, and will do anything for him.
