Kingdom of Bakauwaejo

The Kingdom of Bakauwaejo (Little Auwaejo) was founded in 772 SC under local nobility who preferred their own state to the new Wanyun of Jungyu. Bakauwaejo was chosen as the name of the kingdom due to its lands roughly overlapping with the original borders of the Wanyun of Auwaejo when it was a principality. It's only significant military action came in 801 SC when it partitioned the Kingdom of Suoyeong alongside the nation of Gyeowai. This state of affairs would last for a number of years, with Bakauwaejo as a peripheral nation to Jungyu, often being supported against the more powerful Gyeowai. During the transition from Jungyu to Haowun, however, Bakauwaejo lost the support of the north and was promptly conquered in 1308 by Gyeowai. Gyeowai turned it into an autonomous Cheonyeo, which fostered a brotherly relation between the peoples of the two nations and facilitated its survival as a Cheonyeo up to this day, remaining loyal to the southern leadership at all times. Bakauwaejo's forces assisted Gyeowai as they became the Wanyun of Gyeowai, and supported the dynasty after they were exiled from their conquests by the Wanyun of Syeoban.
