Titan's Hand

Titan's Hand is a town in Miennach that saw immense growth in the 4th century CY. It lies between two lakes, Norgar (east) and the Titan's Lake (west). In the centre of the village, a great stone hand sticks out of the ground, the village's namesake.   Titan's Hand is vital for trade (being at the point Norgar flows into the Titan's Lake) and is a satellite settlement of Mig Dural, which lies two days to the south-west.   Besides being a trade village, Titan's Hand is also a great spot for travel. Many adventurers and travellers arrive by ship or the Lake Road and spend a few nights there. Many will ask about the great stone hand that reaches out from underground, and none will find an answer.   The Formidable Disparates travelled through Titan's Hand on their way to Mig Dural, staying shortly to enjoy the Fragrant Festival. They also each got a magical tattoo there, and encountered a group of refugees from Mig Dural hiding in the cellars of a tavern.

Industry & Trade

Titan's Hand thrives off the river trade, serving as a checkpoint where raw materials travelling down the Titan's Rush from mining towns like Eskard or Ironstar either pass through or are transported to Mig Dural and then further along the Coin Road.

Infrastructure

The buildings in Titan's Hand are mostly built from wood or stone, with thatched roofs and one or two floors. The most significant structures in Titan's Hand are—apart from the stone hand—the two bridges that cross the connection between Titan's Lake and Norgar. These bridges, should a ship too large to go underneath want to pass, can be tilted upwards thanks to a contraption using chains and pulleys.

History

Once Mig Dural had been built and had started to truly thrive, people started building smaller outposts around it. One of these outposts was Titan's Hand. Seeing the opportunity, many people built up inns and shops around the area. Over time, Titan's Hand became famous among travellers and grew to a reasonably large village, then even to the size of a town.

Tourism

Many tourists travel to Titan's Hand to see the strange stone hand that reaches to the sky. Some simply want to see it, others wish to discover its secrets or hope to find a clue as to its origin. Other than that, Titan's Hand provides a nice resting place for anyone passing through. Its establishments are much more affordable than those in Mig Dural, which is a two day ride away along the Coin Road, and it offers transport over water to both Eskard and Nessur's Eye.

You mention that it was formed in the 4th century but it would be nice to know the way that time and years are measured in this world. The first section of this article sounds like a tourism ad. Like it now convinced me to go there and it does not even exist. Very good article. It was very well written and very interesting. It really does sound like a touristic pamphlet. I would totally visit Titan's Hand if it were real. 10/10
