Chronoseam

The Chronoseam spell is a historic spell which was developed by the Deep Perceptor Avelin Saerkh and used by many members and some associates of the Unbound, including Pezulruth Veld and Melody Harrington during the Time of Terrors.

Effect

The spell allowed a user to skip forward through a chosen period of time by transferring into a timeless place and re-emerging after an interval defined by the spell caster (in theory).   Typical usage skipped sleeping hours. Usually the mage emerged in the morning refreshed as if they had slept but with the hours of life they would otherwise have lost to sleep added to their net age.   The Chonoseam could more dangerously be used for longer intervals, allowing passage into the far future, but the interval of the seam was harder to control at longer timescales.

Side/Secondary Effects

Whilst most mages reported that skipping sleep with the chronoseam appeared harmless, some apparently experienced unfortunate side effects akin to not sleeping at all, if perhaps not quite as bad. They claimed to hear voices from the timeless space in their waking hours. Pezulruth Veld was once such sufferer.   It is not certain that this effect was specific to the chronoseam spell. It may have been just a simpler madness caused by consumption of too much synaptic unbinding potion.

Manifestation

Mages under the influence of the spell simply disappeared from the perspective of other people in the same timeline and reappeared when the spell duration was over.

Material Components
The choronseam spell required synaptic unbinding potion each time it was cast, and arcane amplification perfume can apparently not be used as a substitute.
Effect Casting Time
It took no more than thirty seconds to cast the spell.
Level
Only higher ranked members of the Unbound were granted the secrets of this spell and it was never used extensively.
Applied Restriction
After the end of the Time of Terrors, Synaptic Unbinding Potion could no longer be used due to the Nexorin Pathogen. This put an end to the spell which was only ever effectively in use for around six hundred years.
