Howard Tuttle
A fire burns in all humans. We have a drive to accomplish and change the world around us. That fire isn't so different from the one at the center of the Campgrounds. Within Howard, that fire burns especially bright.
As one of the key members of the Order of the Fire Salamander, his main role is to gather and collate information about the Dark Forest and its inhabitants. With his help the Order has been able to find and approach numerous victims and survivors of the "Thieving Woods" and help to rehabilitate them. Howard's real goal during all of this is to find out how people get into the Dark Forest in the first place and stop it once and for all.

History
Howard and Ron have known each other for a long time. As members of the Order, they both live in Lostling's Hope when it was taken by the Ashvine. That event forged a strong relationship between the two, but with Howard nothing is ever simple.
Relationship Reasoning
Howard sees Ron as a great storyteller, a tool, and a friend. Which one takes precedence varies on a moment by moment basis. Ron on the other hand worries for Howard, but Howard's lack of honesty towards him prevents him from helping. For now, he helps Howard because he's unsure what else he can do.
