Iridescence

One of the three awakening humours, it is also known as spirit water. Often used in conjunction with a specialist Dreamspeaker.
It is made from stones found in the Fae Realm, or in some deep caverns. These are then powdered and added to a vinager/oil mixture typically. It is the most easily accessible version in terms of creation, and has the least number of side effects. It also has a lower chance of inducing the change required to access wizardly abilities.
Random hedge wizards are usually created with unintentional consumption of irridenscence sometime found in an unfamiliar water source.

Properties

Compounds

Iridescence is often mixes with vinager and oil as it seems like it helps to improve the likelyhood of magic awakening. As it is a soft stone it flakes and is ground fairly easily.

History & Usage

Everyday use

As an Awakening Humour, it induces a dream or coma like state. In most idividuals they wake up in ten to fourteen hours, without a response that creates the wizarding ability. A magically inclined Dreamspeaker can often help join in the dream state or induce better responses in the dream state which results in the wizarding ability. On occasion the wizarding ability is not activated, but a strange reaction leaves some magical abilities that cannot be considered wizarding ones. The abilities are almost sorcery or similar to wizard abilities, but they are not changeable by reasearch or standard wizarding methods.

Industrial Use

It has been used to create Cartaries or other Tions. Most commonly however it is used in the magical inks necessary to create scrolls or magical candles and some potions.
