Awakening Humours

Awakening Humours refers to a series of liquids and gels that are imbibed to awaken the ability to manipulate the forces of magic. While not the only way to awaken the ability to use magic, they constitute the most common method. There are three primary ones Intrac Jelly , Irridescence and Mindfire Draught . Occasionally a magic spring will produce a liquid that becomes an awakening humour. This is typically the origin of sudden appearances of new wizards without a mentor.

Wizards, Bards, Archaists, Artifices are more will imbibe these as they being to apprentice. It is believed that a weaker form of awakening humours are used to generate some of the powers among monasteries.

There are several side effects of these humours. Mutations are not unusual, though typically this is over time. Additionally the minds of wizards are altered and begin to accumulate strange particulate that can calcify within the brain. It makes the brains of wizards a collectable as a reagent in experimentation.
