Insectoids

Sentient insectoid species are rare, but are known to occur. They reproduce more rapidly than many other species, but have some difficulty in adapting or working with other cultures and species. Their thought patterns are typically considered far to alien to deal with. Most have multiple sexes or castes that are biological, not just social.
There are three primary species of note: Awoken Book Scorpions, Mantis-men, and bugmen.
Matis-men are the closest to making sense from other species perspectives. They are more individualist than bugmen, and aren't as strange to interact with. Bugmen are more diverse but also more alien in nature. While Mantis-men have a sexual dimorphism that is at least understandable, bugmen have a series of alternate forms many of which are uncapable of reproduction.
