Hell's Hearth
Hell's Hearth is a collection of large islands surrounded by The Brass Wastes south of the continent of Nyland that has come to be the home of the Tieflings, as they found safety from the humans what is now Xelland in its isolation and extreme climate.
Geography
The landmasses of Hell's Hearth could both be described as islands and highlands; Plateaus if they were much more flat. Most often sheer cliffs line the border between the lands and the flat brass of the wastes. Water is nonexistent, with the only rivers being of lava. The terrain is mostly ash covering layers of extrusive igneous rocks such as tuff, andesite, and pumice,
Ecosystem
Hell's Hearth supports a surprisingly lush ecosystem, supported by the nutrient rich ash soil.
Caudiciforms and succulents collect water and nutrients and are fed upon by insects and rodents, both of which are in turn are preyed upon by small omnivorous lizards, and all of which are preyed upon by apex predator mammals, such as the Ashen fox.
Climate
The climate of Hell's Hearth is extremely dry, with extremely hot temperatures during the day and cold temperatures during the nights and volcanic winters.

Natural Resources
Hell's Hearth is the world's only major source of sulfur. In addition, the ashen soils are surprisingly fertile, and volcanic activity has formed deposits of obsidian and some metals.
Ores include native aluminum, native copper, galena (lead, silver), hematite (iron), tetrahedrite (copper, silver)
History
Hell's Hearth has never been inhabited until the foundation of The Kingdom of Ashes.
