For as long as anyone can remember, there's always been a quiet ticking coming from the ground. Put your ear to the ground, listen, and you'll hear it. Watch the ripples in the water. Tick, tick. And at each end of the world lies a plain of brass, an absolute desert too hot or cold for any being, keeping the nations of the world confined to squabble over what land it leaves them. Myths and theories float among the people about the mystery of the world. One day, the Dwarves dug deep, and found the clockwork that lies under this world, a vast, deep wild of brass gears and wonders never seen before. But what they've found is only the surface.
