The Grand Alliance
Overview
The Grand Alliance is one of the largest political and military unions in Azeroth, originally forged in the fires of the Second War to counter the orcish Horde's invasion. What began as a temporary pact among human kingdoms has grown into a diverse coalition of peoples who share a commitment to justice, unity, and mutual defense. The Alliance is shaped by a desire to preserve order in a world often fractured by chaos. Though war remains a part of its history, diplomacy, cooperation, and resilience are its modern pillars. The Alliance seeks not domination, but stability, and it proudly holds the line against tyranny, corruption, and threats from both within and beyond Azeroth.

Current Affairs
In the aftermath of the Fourth War, the Alliance faces a time of rebuilding and introspection. With King Anduin Wrynn absent, High Exarch Turalyon has stepped in to maintain stability. Political dynamics have shifted toward local governance and coalition-led decision-making, though unity remains intact. Relations with the Horde have cooled to a wary peace. Meanwhile, the rise of factionless entities and pirate-led enclaves—such as the Free Seas—has complicated the Alliance’s maritime dominance, spurring diplomatic caution and naval vigilance.
Diplomatic Relations
- The Horde – Officially at peace, though mistrust remains
- Free Seas – Viewed with suspicion; often clashes with Alliance law and commerce
- Neutral Factions – Evaluated individually, depending on interests and history
- Kirin Tor / Dalaran – Trusted allies with a long history of collaboration
