Requirements

They must be male of the Spartian tribe

Appointment

A Spartian youngling is taken to the temple by both of their parents and given to the Zealots to train and study under the way of the zealot oly taking breaks during times of sickness or attending funerals or to celebrate the day of their birth.

Duties

they are to protect the temple and the faith of the Angellonian empire. they are to go out and fight against enemies who are a threat to the faith and to destroy devils and other supernatural enemies. they also are to spread the faith on planets the Angellonian empire has conquered and to protect the priesthood as bodyguards when the priesthood preaches on newly conquered worlds.

Responsibilities

they are to train until night and for seven days only resting on the eighth day of the week and are to also study all holy books.

Benefits

they are feared throughout the empire and beyond who can even strike fear and hopelessness in the eyes of even the strongest and most bravest warriors in the cosmos.

Accoutrements & Equipment

they wear the Zealots' uniform which consists of pauldrons, chest armor, gauntlets,  greaves and boots with claws on the toe for climbing and combat, a wrist computer attachment for the left gauntlet, blue loin cloth for the front and back with the back loin cloth longer and wider covering the hips and backside with the fron loincloth not as long or wide.   They carry a wrist blade, telescopic spear, an Aethrium rifle, whip, daggers to on the sides of the boots and on the hip, a Zealot sword and a dart attachment for both gauntlets.

Grounds for Removal/Dismissal

treason, blasphemy, heresy are some things that will have a zealot lose their position by execution while if one wanted to leave the order peacefully then they could marry but are no longer allowed to associate with any zealots for the sake of both parties.

History

A group of Spartian commanders and soldiers joined "The Tribe Fathers" to go defeat "the fallen one" at the battle of fate in the temple. after the battle with the defeat of "the fallen one" those Spartians forever then called themselves the zealots: for their zeal was mighty and strong against the deceit of the fallen one, and went out to remove all  heretics and blasphemers from positions of power and handpicked replace them with more faithful warriors.

Cultural Significance

before the zealots, the empire was ran like a meritocracy but after "the fallen one" stained the empire with his sin, the zealots went forth and cleansed and established new rules and a system to force the teachings of the holy books to all Angellonians:for before only the priesthood could read the holy books.
