Title, Name, Descriptive Name & Rank

His name is Skaran, and his full service name is Skaran Stronghand—a title he earned only after joining the crew of Raskab’s Fist, because he gets things done and solves as much with his hands as with his mind. Among the Rune Warriors, he holds the rank of Frostblade Master, an officer grade that entitles him to command three Frostblades. Aboard the ship, however, he forgoes any warrior bravado—he serves as the senior soldier of the maintenance unit: reliable, structured, present.

Not stated directly, but his posture, experience, and emotional maturity suggest he is in his late 30s or early 40s—a man whose youth still glows within him, yet has been weathered by responsibility.  

Appearance / Physical Condition

Skaran is of average height for a Frostborn: 1.58 m, but solidly built—shoulders like support beams. He has short brown hair, brown eyes, and no beard. His face is broad and friendly, with slightly slanted eyes and a constant smile that soothes more than it dazzles. He radiates warmth and calm—a steady presence amid the clamor of machinery.  

Background

Skaran originally served in a land company before being transferred to the warship Raskab’s Fist four years ago. At first, he resisted the change—but once aboard, he developed a quiet fascination with the craft of shipwork. What began as a spontaneous offer of help became his new daily rhythm—structured, detail-driven, and unexpectedly fulfilling. His time aboard has transformed him: he no longer wishes to return to active combat. He belongs to the machines, the corridors, the pulley-driven spaces deep within the Fist.  

Motivation & Goals

His inner engine is care—Skaran lives to give others stability. He is not a man of grand visions, but one who seeks the right action in small things: order, structure, protection. His goal is not glory, but dependability, and his drive comes from a big heart—even if it often pushes him to his limits. Perfectionism is his quiet burden: he demands more of himself than of others, and when he falls, he falls hard.  

Family & Friends

His mother lives in Skipti; his father died shortly after the Golem War from his injuries. Nothing is known about siblings. His closest emotional bond is with Neris, a Rune Warrior of equal rank—a relationship forbidden in the military. His crew knows about it and protects them.

He is deeply woven into the ship’s crew, especially among the maintenance teams—there, he is seen as a warm-hearted superior with open ears and quick hands. Official ties to higher officers exist but are rarely strained by personal ambition—Skaran is loyal, but not blind. If an order clashes with his moral compass, quiet resistance stirs within him—never loud, never public, but unmistakable.

Senior soldier of the maintenance unit. On Raskab’s Fist, he ensures efficiency, safety, and order in all technical matters. He oversees the auxiliary vessels within the warship—scouts, repair boats, troop transports. His talent for organization and craftsmanship has made him indispensable—though his actual rank is higher, this role fulfills him more than any command post. It grants him closeness, purpose, and structure.

Aboard Raskab’s Fist, his home of bone and frost. The thought of another assignment seems distant to him now.

To his crew, Skaran is no commander—he’s “boss.” Someone who leads without ruling, who listens instead of interrupting, who acts instead of preaching. His nickname Stronghand is not just a nod to his physical strength, but to his resolve, his calm, and his reliability.
