Neris Morning Glow

Name, Title, Rank

She was given the name "Morning Glow" due to her striking, long red hair – a rare hue among Frostborn that made her stand out early in life. What once was a nickname is now an integral part of her identity. As a Frostblade, she belongs to the active frontline of the Raskab’s Fist, a battleship of the fleet. Her role is demanding and dangerous: Neris moves ahead of the ship to detect threats early – including weather shifts, golems, drifting ice structures, and movements of sea beasts.  

Age

She counts 24 winters – young enough to be seen as a hope of the new generation, yet already shaped by formative experiences that make her impossible to underestimate. Her missions show discipline, awareness, and courage. Only rarely does a hint of insecurity surface.  

Appearance and Physical Condition

Neris is small, agile, and exceptionally quick in her reactions. Her facial features are smooth and finely carved, with slanted eyes and soft contours – a rarity among Frostborn. Her face is distinct, her skin unusually smooth despite her time outdoors. Her green eyes are calm and alert. Her deep red hair is usually braided or tied in a bun.  

Origin

Born in Föndir, daughter of a dockworker and a tavern singer, Neris grew up amidst hard hands and sharp tongues. Her three brothers, all harbor laborers, influenced her with loud voices, physical strength, and blunt honesty. Neris, on the other hand, longed for clarity and autonomy – seeking her path beyond the docks. Family remains important to her, but joining the fleet was her escape from a life that would have confined her.  

Drive and Goals

Her scouting missions are not just duty but responsibility. Her goal is to lead her own trio one day – she firmly believes she’d be a capable squad leader. Those who've worked with her describe quiet strength and sharp vigilance. She is calm and deliberate. Only when truly at a loss does she become loud and anxious.  

Family and Friends

Her bond with family is warm yet distant. She writes regularly, but avoids long visits to Föndir. On board, she’s well liked: many know her, greet her, play cards or dice with her in the evenings. Her loyal and open nature makes her a welcomed companion, though she rarely takes center stage. Her relationship with Skaren Starkhand, head of maintenance, is close, deep, and forbidden. They are aware of the risk, but face it with quiet ease. The crew knows, says nothing, and protects them – out of respect.  

Connections

Neris moves confidently between departments. She knows maintenance not only through Skaren but from her own initiative. With officers and commanding staff, she maintains professional yet warm relations. Her reports are valued for precision, her assessments for reliability. The captain of the Fist appreciates her calm and judgment on reconnaissance missions.  

Profession and Rank

Frostblade – the entry into the circle of Rune Warriors. Yet her missions and reputation suggest she’ll soon hold a higher rank. She already takes on tasks requiring responsibility and tactical thinking. The path to becoming a squad leader is open to her.  

Current Station

Currently aboard the Raskab’s Fist, the fleet’s flagship. She previously served on the Icebreaker, where she gained her early experience. But the Fist is her home – she knows the people, is respected, and feels at ease.  

Reputation

Neris is seen as reliable, open, and calm. Her manner brings people together – not through volume, but through trust. Among the crew she is appreciated, by leadership respected.
