Emberborough

Emberborough is an influential trade hub and city-state located near the center of Tataril in Efthemia. It has a proportionally small permanent population compared to its size, as most residents are just travelers or merchants passing through. Those who do live and work in the city are usually guards or local business owners.

It has gained a reputation for being nigh unassailable. A massive wall encircles the city, dotted with enormous, eternally burning braziers. The city ramparts are perpetually stationed with automaton lookouts, and armed with automated defenses contracted from Avak.

The city's wealth and influence enabled it to prevent The Zederah from stretching into eastern Tataril by hiring thousands of mercenaries to patrol the western border. Despite Atoli Brannigan's desperate desire to capture Emberborough, his hometown, he was quickly averted from this effort when his first force sent to the city-state was "liquified" and sent back to him as a "cartload of red vials."
