North Pyrhian Taiga
The North Pyrhian Taiga is a wild, untamed region of dangerous fauna and magical chaos between the Pyrhian Union and Kaldrstóll. The Pyrhian Union has generally forbidden and closed off access to all except those officially licensed to venture into the region. Even still, many venture in under official and not-so-official pretenses, only some of whom return.
Geography
The North Pyrhian Taiga is a vast region of varying geography and topography, from plains to dense woods, to perilous mountains and spires. Some southern parts have been partially explored, but most of the region has not been mapped out due to the dangers of venturing into it.
Localized Phenomena
According to rumors and legends passed on from alleged survivors and explorers of the North Pyrhian Taiga, it contains many storied, unusual locations. Some of these include a field of ice or crystalline spires which warp the magic around them and cause a form of magically induced disorientation, and a dense forest in perpetual twilight where one can hear the whisperings of almost familiar voices.
Climate
The climate of this region is generally frigid, getting colder the more northward one ventures.
Fauna & Flora
Not many specifics are known about the flora of the North Pyrhian Taiga, whether it be just normal plant life or the cause of any of the many rumors. The fauna on the other hand, though equally unstudied, are well known to be very dangerous and unpredictable. This, along with many uninvestigated rumors, has been the main catalyst driving the Pyrhian Union to build up checkpoints blocking entry, and defenses against whatever may venture southward.
