Inanimate Repair

Through the process of very simple state reversal, a caster may repair damage to an inanimate object. Casters who wish to repair may do so differently depending on their level of skill with this ability.

Effect

Access to the lowest tier of this ability will allow the caster to reverse damage on soft objects, provided that all of the original matter is still available.   Intermediate casting of this ability allows the user to repair hard objects if the damaged matter is present, and soft materials, using externally sourced matter of the same kind.   Advanced casters are able to repair inanimate metal objects with its original matter, hard objects using externally sourced matter, and soft objects, using inexpensive, conjured matter, provided the caster is capable of producing such matter with other branches of magic.

Side/Secondary Effects

A lesser accepted application for this ability is to reverse the process of shaping or refining. Magic has no opinions on what repair truly is, and as those with language used a word to describe this ability and its branch, the result is that many have forgotten that it simply works on the principle of reversal, meaning that a shaped and hardened vase may be reverted to a simple mound of clay.

Manifestation

A dull blue glow is produced with advanced use of this ability.

Material Components
Using magically charged materials may allow the caster to produce better effects, using less magic, especially in the case of repairing an object without any provided matter similar to that of the object being repaired. The right material spell components may even allow casters to repair metal objects without providing any similar matter.

Hand signs for this branch involve cupped hands placed together with space in the center.

It is important to note that this ability can not repair something that was never broken. If a vase was made in a misshapen or incomplete form, it can not be corrected if it was never in the state that the caster deemed to be correct.
