Queen Lethe
Queen Lethe Matilda Helen Lethain (a.k.a. Lethe)
The quality of Queen Lethe's reign is a very divided topic. The peasants love her, but the nobles hate her. Most of the taxes that come in are almost immediately placed in projects for the betterment of the kingdom. She rarely buys herself unnecessary items, for she enjoys the happiness of her people much more than any material object. That being said, however, her actions, heavily contrasting the previous ruler's, tend to favor the poor over the rich.
Due to her past, Lethe does not believe love without greed exists. She loved only for her sanity once, now she wonders what she loves for. For Lethe, love is more of a survival tactic than an actual emotion. This spreads beyond Lethe herself, for, "Love is but a survival tactic. They love me because I control their lives, their taxes, how their money is spent, laws, many legal processes... I could go on. They love each other because combining finances increases their chances of survival," -Lethe
When she was young, Queen Lethe was known as Princess Matilda of Munya. When she was ten, a young prophet, Fayt, gave the king a prophecy foretelling the death of all royals and many nobles. There was, however, no time frame given, and Matilda was locked in a tower, a shackle around her wrist to prevent her from doing something potentially fatal, such as jumping out the window. Over her stay in the tower, Matilda was blessed by the moon goddess, Luna, and learned wizardry through an old wizard's tome in the abandoned tower. After being locked away for nine years, Princess Matilda, with the spells she learned, faked her own death, broke free from her chains, took the new identity of a foreigner named Lethe, and staged a coup against her father, a corrupt and generally disliked king at this point.
Lethe slew her own father and took his crown. She disposed of many corrupt nobles in her court and replaced them with peasants who were good politicians. She lowered the absurdly high taxes and used most of her father's enormous gold stash to kickstart many improvements to Munya's architecture. While the peasants were concerned about the quality of her reign at first, they rapidly came to care for their new queen. Many nobles never came to terms with Lethe's reign, but the Queen's benevolent reign was never contested.
To prevent tyranny, Flora has a worldwide law that states any ruler who lives to be over a hundred shall be publicly executed by a method of their choosing. Lethe, being a blessed wizard, lived to be over a hundred. In a simple while gown, Lethe was executed by guillotine. The gods, however, seemed to forget to bring her death, so Lethe now lives in the castle but does not rule her kingdom. As long as the new ruler is kind to the people and is not corrupt, Lethe will not attempt to take control of Munya. Even if she were to stage another coup, the trust and love she sowed in the people would not contest her actions.

Mental characteristics
Education
In terms of secular studies, she's literate and knows a lot concerning politics and money, but she's otherwise uneducated since her education, while very thorough, terminated when she was locked in the tower. In terms of more religious education, Lethe is a self-taught wizard of Luna. She learned wizardry through a comprehensive manual of all wizard spells, pronunciation, and effects. This manual was at least twice the size of most wizard books are. By the age of sixteen, she'd memorized more spells than most wizards learned in their lives. All out of pure boredom.
Employment
Lethe was originally a princess, but she became a wizard after being locked in a tower for years. After going bezerk and killing her father, Lethe become the Queen of her kingdom: Munya.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Most people see Lethe's successful coup and her reign some of her only known achievements since she refrains from divulging any possible past before her rise to power, but she also credits learning wizardry, killing her father, and marrying Fayt as some of her other achievements.
Failures & Embarrassments
The only failure Lethe credits as a failure and not a learning experience is her failed attempt at building a positive relationship with her brother after she, you know, killed their father and started a coup that would make it so he could never become king.
Mental Trauma
After spending nine years practically alone in a small tower, about one or two eating little but food made of mana, she began to resent other humans, especially nobles and the rich. She would've gone completely insane and possibly died if the prophet who accidentally imprisoned her, Fayt, hadn't come to talk to her and brought her regular food every so often. She also faked her own death and created a false identity, so there's that.
Morality & Philosophy
'If a person does bad things, no matter if they believed they were doing good or not, they must be severely punished.'
She's exempt from this rule, though. She's the bringer of karma.

Throughout her reign, Lethe shifted economic balances, created a middle class, allied her kingdom with many others, and disposed of a lot of corrupt government officials. Lethe's father is just judgmental.
