Reki

the capital of humanity

History

During the reign of God-lord Rekna in Firigon , the human population quickly grew and many settlements raised out of the ground like mushrooms during autumn. The biggest of this settlements was Agaris, a port city on the eastern coast of the island. This port was heavily tied with the port of Athria , grand-city of East-Theria , and this blooming partnership between the two made each of them grow to be the biggest of their respective continent. The home of Rekna was a giant palace called "Reki", and was located near a lake east of Agaris. It is said that the vesajan lore preffered living outside of the city, as he then could fully appreciate the beauty of the island.

After The god-wars and the Vesaja, the political structure of Firigon fell apart. The palace fell into decay, and was only visited for pilgrims looking to worship their former lord. A new Vesaja, Haliseen  opened up the island to magic and foreigners, to the discontent of the firigans. Six years later the firigans banded together under a man called Aldwyn, and rebelled against Haliseen and the foreigners in an event called the retake of Firigon . A new political institution was formed, and Aldwyn became the first human emporer of Firigon. Aldwyn chose the Reki palace as his new home, which quickly grew into a large city.

For 5 generations, until the year 806 A.V., Reki and Agaris had remained two seperate cities. The emporer in control of the island during this time, emporer Pereza, had grown jealous of the noblemen in control of Agaris. Agaris had remained the biggest and richest city on the continent, as they had connection to the sea, and therefore enjoyed a much more efficient connection to the mainland. Emporer Pereza could not live with the fact that these noblemen were richer than the empire, and after an alleged humuliation at a council, condemned them to death. Retaliation by the people of Agaris was futile, as the imperial army was far too strong for them to confront, and the emporer still enjoyed the support of the majority of the land. Emporer Pereza then ordered the digging of a gigantic channel, connecting Reki to the Sea of man . To add to the insult, this channel ran straight through Agaris.

Many years later the name Agaris fell into oblivion, and the two cities merged into one. By now, Reki was the largest city in the world and considered the center of civilisation.
