Your Space

Thanks to your work with Lifewood Labor and the Kobold's rapid excavation of the Derelict Ark under Langly's supervision, you have been granted a space to call your own and shape to benefit your needs.  

Renovating

You are given significant control over the design of your space including the aesthetic design and any bonuses gained from this. All renovations and functionality must be accepted by Orwin Knuckle and will have to be funded personally. Thanks to the Kobold's sheer number and speed, accepted renovations will be ready by your next downtime activity.   Renovating a space to another configuration costs 25gp + 1 week of maintenance costs (or 1 blessing for the Chapel) and takes 1 week to be rebuilt. Altering a configuration to another focus but remaining the same type of space (configuring a Tinker Tools Training Room to a Thieves Tools Training Room) forgoes the 25gp flat cost.

Functionality and Bonuses

Your space can be renovated to benefit specific skills and downtime activities  

Personal Space

Maintenance: None   Returns: Travel Bonuses   Examples: Reading Room, Pet Room, Bedroom   The default space allocated per person. Your space is constructed to best aid in relaxation and recovery leaving the owner well-rested and prepared for the next contract. Those who possess a Personal Space gain the Well-Rested buff once they begin travelling, regardless of the activities taken during Downtime. The Well-Rested buff renders a creature immune to gaining points of exhaustion (within reason) and allows them to take 1 action with advantage over the course of travel or gain 5 temporary hit points at the start of combat, whichever comes first. Upon arrival of the contract location, the well-rested buff is removed. As long as they have immediate access to their Personal Space, a creature is immune to contracting disease and may cure any and all previously contracted diseases by the end of their downtime.  

Chapel

Maintenance: 25gp/blessing   Returns: Blessings to use during contracts   Examples: Shrines, Small Temples   Your space is altered in the name of a god you choose. It can take the form of a small shrine or altar to allow a closer connection with a god's astral form, their Avatar is unaffected. Those in possession of a Chapel can sacrifice at least 25gp in materials to call upon their god's astral form to apply small one time buffs for the coming adventure. These blessings last until used or the start of the next downtime session.  

Personal Business

Maintenance: 10gp/week per employee   Returns: ~35gp/week per employee   Examples: Smuggling ring, Counterfeiter nest, Moonshine Refinery   Your space is altered to suit a profession you are willing to pursue. All unrecorded and un-taxed businesses are illegal regardless of intent but with a slight risk come slightly raised profits compared with legitimate businesses. The nature of owning a business is a risk however, every workweek can throw difficulties to lessen your profits or increase them dramatically depending on how well the business is advertised or generally tended to (investing additional funds per downtime beyond upkeep will improve the chances of profit multipliers). Additionally, those in possession of a Personal Business may choose one tool they are already proficient in at the construction of the business, intended to be the tool most often used when working. As long as they have immediate access to their Personal Business, all checks made with this tool are made with twice proficiency instead.  

Study

Maintenance: 10gp/downtime session   Returns: Benefits to researching, information for the next contract   Examples: Personal Library, Laboratory, Divination Room   Your space is altered to the pursuit of knowledge. It can take the form of a small library whose books are mysteriously replaced at random or a laboratory with adequate materials needed to thoroughly study or however else you desire. Those in possession of a Study are granted one successful Research activity for the sake of uncovering hidden lore as long as the maintenance cost is met. Additionally they may add +2 to all checks made to INT based checks as long as they have immediate access to their study.  

Training Room

Maintenance: 1gp/day in use   Returns: Accelerated training progress   Examples: Dojo, Classroom, Shooting Range   Your space is altered to greater benefit personal training in tools or skills, manifesting itself as a small sparring room or test forge or brewery. The end results never yield profits but do improve your capacity to pick up difficult to learn skills such as languages, tools, weapons, and ability proficiencies. When a Training Room is being constructed an intended training skill must also be declared, determining how the Kobolds outfit it for use. Those with accfess to a Training Room make 2 days of progress for every day of Training taken as a downtime activity. Additionally, they may add +2 to all checks made with the declared training skill as long as they have immediate access to their Training Room.   *Limitations of Full or Half Proficiencies Remain as seen in the Downtime Training section.  

Preexisting Spaces

You are not alone within the Derelict Ark and may have access to other members' spaces to use as long as you maintain a friendly relationship with the owner. A list of some of the existing space functions can be found below:

Arcane Engineering Bay
Alchemist Workshop
  Orwin Knuckle and Rema Zuggt'amon maintain specialist spaces which require very specific and difficult to recreate conditions to function properly. All characters are allowed access to these rooms for the sake of crafting or enchanting. Magical and mundane items can be crafted within the Arcane Engineering Bay using the crafting rules shown in Downtime. Poisons and Potions may be crafted within the Alchemist Workshop.
