  An Avatar is a material embodiment of a powerful divine or metaphysical being, typically within the Material Plane. In most cases an Avatar takes the form of a humanoid creature that typically comes to embody the domain of the entity they represent but have been known to take the shape of beasts, celestial bodies, and other abstract forms. In most cases the material Avatar is initially unaware of its fate, coming to terms with their curious abilities as they mature and discover, something in the back of their mind always leaving the seed of truth to be discovered at the proper time.   Avatars rarely make themselves known except in extreme situations. In many instances, revealing the truth would bring too much attention from both those devoted and those opposed to the being occupying them and can prove dangerous to both family and companions. In other cases the divine seek to embody those of the Material Plane without the difficulties a world-treading god might bring, seeking insight into the world typically beyond their grasp or to take direct action in a looming disaster, either to prevent or cause it.  

Additional Abilities

Avatars gain additional abilities reflective of their otherwordly nature. These abilities are second nature from birth, the Avatar has no need to master any of their innate gifts as they are truly a part of their being. Such abilities include but are not limited to the capacity to recall information with perfect clarity, immunity from certain magics and conditions, and evocational capabilities. No two Avatars are truly alike simultaneously and their abilities vary just the same.   In addition, all Avatars are semi-mortal. They are capable of being killed or dying of old age but are never truly removed from the multiverse unless their throne is taken by another entity. If slain, the divine being may choose to resurrect their previous Avatar, produce another, or return to their place in the Outer Planes if permitted.
