Though attempts had been made to directly interact with her, Charlie Anderson's death forced her into direct contact with the group, trading his life for a favor.
Divine Goals & Aspirations
The enigmatic god of death, most specifically the moment a soul is sent into the afterlife. She fiercely opposes the undead, allowing only very specific cases to return to the Material Plane. Typically this is done through a sacrifice of diamonds and magical power but, in cases where a soul has the strength of conviction and "unfinished business", a creature can be resurrected by her directly as a Revenant, powerful undead who shall live for as long as their work remains unfinished.
The Raven Queen is often seen as fickle, behaving one way at a moment and another the next, ferrying souls one moment and returning them the next. It is unknown whether this is some part of a grand scheme or just her being unpredictable.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Esther appears as a thin, pale teenage girl with long dark hair and piercing steel-blue eyes. She is relatively short and frail and has a persistent aura of gloom floating around her.
Special abilities
As the Raven Queen, she is the master of death and all things between the Material Plane and the Astral Sea. The Raven Queen can both summon and turn undead and travel into the Ethereal Plane. Additionally she is able to, ritualistically, commune with spirits of the departed, seeking their honest answers to her questions but is loathe to do so.
While she has the power to revive, she cannot do so without significant material sacrifice to offset the strain on her physical form.
