Martellite Knight Orders
In the Martellite Empire, there exist various knightly orders that uphold different ideals and have individual goals. Some of these knightly groups are of a religious nature, sourced as martial servants to the gods. Many others are simply servants of the Empire itself, sworn to duty to uphold their own tenets and those of the Empire itself.
Different orders have different recruitment criteria. Some orders source only from nobility, while others are open to all.
Some orders are sedentary and have a base of operations. These localized orders are viewed as protectors of a region. They are dedicated to defending the people of that region using both military and political power. Other orders can be more mobile, such as those which focus more on fighting against external threats and adventure.
