History
Weaver and the Maiden were originally the type of friends who see each other infrequently but share the most memorable moments. The friend who makes the long trip across realms worthwhile. That is, until a series of these moments, driven by poor decisions, misunderstood intentions, and far too much contact with the Ancients drove the Weaver to see the Maiden as a bitter rival. It started when the Maiden's sister, the Mistress of Midnight, became jealous of the distant friendship that she had. This was her tendency; to see anything her sister had as a slight. The Maiden, for her part, cherished her friendship with the Waver and took offense to her sister seeing it as a possession to be stolen. But stole the Wever she did. This first affront the Maiden took in stride, for she knew her sister all too well and found it hard to blame a god for being exactly what the world believed her to be. But when the Weaver began to court her father, an act the Maiden incorrectly assumed was also her sister's doing, the moon goddess confronted the other three. Weaver and Maiden's friendship ended on that day, though their destinies have continued to be intertwined. Weaver forever blames her old friend for the fracturing of her followers and the acts of sabotage that continually thwart her efforts to gain power over the surface dwellers. However, the Maiden's interest in her old friend wained as she found new goals... and eventually a companion. It wasn't until the Weaver sent assassins to kill Maiden's newborn daughter that the riverly renewed... and escalated. During the collapse, Maiden fought Weaver's forces several times, though the Queen of the Netherl choose to avoide direct engagements. Instead, she resorted to theaft and tricker, ultimately stealing the Maiden from her realm in an attempt to imprison her in mortality. It wasn't until the Ancients revealed themsevles again after the Event that the Maiden learned her old friend Weaver had not acted of her free will. She had been possessed by Terror not once, but twice and most of the atrocities she had committed were done under that Ancient's influence. When Weaver was finally freed of her mental prision, the Maiden was the first to offer her aid and friendship.
