The Order of the Bright Star
The second organization-arm of the Platinum Dragon after His Platinum Canonicate, the Order of the Bright Star serves as the military faction of Bahamut. This order of paladins was named after the Platinum Dragon's first paladin, Bright Star. Formed on the day of his death, under the light of the newly constructed Bright Star in the sky, the Order is dedicated to maintaining and promoting the principles of the Platinum Dragon.
Structure
The hierarchy of the Order is as follows:
Chiefly in charge is Bahamut, the Platinum Dragon who gives orders and instructions down the line of authority beginning at,
- The High Dragoon, the chief administrator of the Order's affairs. Most out of the Order believe they are selected personally by the Platinum Dragon, but this is untrue, as the High Dragoon has a high likelihood of being killed in battle. Therefore, in the case of an opening in the position of High Dragoon, the longest serving Dragoon is granted the title of High Dragoon. In battle the High Dragoon will serve as either Field-Commander or General.
- Dragoons; members are made Dragoons from demonstrating great courage and insight in battle or assignment. They are given charge over a group of soldiers. In battle, most fight atop mounts serving as Field-Commanders or Mounted Soldiers. The High Dragoon can assign Dragoons and all lower positions w/in the Order on special assignments.
- Dragon-Knights, these are the elite soldiers of the Order. They can command no one higher than the rank of Squire. Unyielding in the face of adversity, Dragon-Knights are expected to die defending the faith and their brothers-in-arms.
- Knights and Knight-errants, these serve as the bulk of the Order. In battle these are the ground troops. The Knight-errants are however specifically envoys sent out throughout the world on special assignments from anyone higher up in the Order. However, Dragoons must report to the High Dragoon if they send a Knight on assignment.
- Squires, the first position of the Order. They exist as extended arms of the Order to maintain successful, unhindered operations.
