Fjelldal

Once tucked away in a corner of the Boldren Mountain Range, the city of Fjelldal is now the envy of all the freed-world.
After the Dragon Wars began, Fjelldal has seen an explosion in commerce, population, and general foot-traffic more than any other city in the world; being home to the legendary Golden Grain Inn, for which the heroes of the world are named. As the Dragon Wars have continued to wage on across the globe, people have begun to flock to Fjelldal for the chance to thank the Seekers and the Gods for freeing them and their people out from under the tyranny of Tiamat's empire. The population likewise has skyrocketed the once small hamlet of less than 300, to a buslting city of over 10,000!

Government

Before the Dragon Wars: Like most human settlements, Fjelldal is governed by the longhouse of a Lawgrave. The Lawgrave filling one position who then appoints individuals of the town he sees fit as officials in the longhouse.   However, this is just during most of the day-to-day, as the village, and indeed the whole of the Torendal Valley, is ruled by the dragon Tordenkrone.

After the Dragon Wars: The Lawgrave and Lawgrave's Longhouse, like many other places in the freed-world, maintained leadership over the settlement. Simply without being under the heel of Vassal-Governors and Tiamat any longer. Due to the unprecedented population spike since the sealing of Tiamat, the Longhouse has had to establish many new positions of power. Influences from the Federation of Ashguard have led the Longhouse to adopt a Minister system similar to that of Tycheron; where each member of the Longhouse are put in charge of specific duties.

Districts

The hardest thing for the Longhouse to manage has been the exponential physical expansion of Fjelldal. As of 47 YH, there are 8 boroughs that make up the city of Fjelldal.

The Old City: This is the borough of town where people really mean when they say they want to go to Fjelldal. The original wall of the small hamlet of Fjelldal still stands here, demarcating where the town has expanded out from since the Sealing of Tiamat. This part of the city has been transformed into a series of holy sites. Here you will find the Lawgrave's Longhouse, Her Champion's Cathedral of the Lawbearer, the Temple of the Marta d'Dawnan, the Edelstenr Shrine, and most notably: The Golden Grain Inn.

Geography

Sat tucked away between two ridges of the Boldren Mountain Range at 4,850 feet high, the Ferskenvann River runs down along the northern portion of town; emptying into Lake Veivisir.

Natural Resources

Freshwater fish, such as eels and catfish are the primary source of food for the town. They do have a corral of about 50 sheep.
