Filhony
The country of Filhony considers itself to be a welcoming place to all peoples no matter what species or mix of species they are. The vast capital city of Zara is known far and wide for it's Centers of Learning. Other than Zara and the ship-building city of Zabinamo, settlements in Filhony are small and scattered through the forest and along the coast.
History
In the year 617, Duke Kethgen unexpectedly came to power after the death of his father. Not expecting to inherit, Kethgen (a Nairian) had married the (Human) Lady Fastrada of Orbico. King Ruaren was in power in Belsa at the time and declared he would not accept Kethgen as the successor unless he sent Lady Fastrada back to Orbico and married a Nairian woman.
Kethgen received the support of many of the nobles in his region as well as the common people of Filhony as Humans, Nairians, and mixes between the two races had been living together there for some time. King Ruaren declared war on Filhony in 618 which eventually ended in something of a stalemate when it was apparent that Kethgen's people could keep the Belsan forces out of the Stormy Point forest, but were not interested in pushing further south into Belsa. A treaty was signed by both sides in late 619 declaring that as of the new year, Filhony would be its own kingdom with its own rights and responsibilities.

Territories
Stormy Point makes up most of the territory of Filhony. To the south of the forest is what was once a cleared & guarded no man's land between Filhony & Belsa, but that 20 mile wide (33 km) strip of land is currently occupied by a trade checkpoint next to the road between the two countries now.
To the north of Stormy Point are two marshy areas of land. The welcoming Filhony nature has caused small groups of Danlae to inhabit these regions.
Foreign Relations
Aglas: FRIENDLY While trade isn't too frequent, occasionally Filhonin ships will travel up the Dancing River for trade with Aglas.
Belsa: ALLY Foreign relations with Belsa improved the first century after the war and are now considered allies. Filhony currently imports large quantities of silk from Belsa for clothing.
Crystaria: ALLY Relations with the merchants of Crystaria have always been good. The shipyards at Zabinamo are frequented by some Crystarians for repairs.
Narkish: ALLY The Filhonin welcome their Danlae visitors and the two nations are close because of it.
Orbico: ALLY Filhony trades many spices & dyes with Orbico in exchange for linen fabric.
Zel: NEUTRAL While they frequently trade with the Zelic, the Filhonin are suspicious of the Zel since very few Ahsness reside in Filhony.
Agriculture & Industry
Most of the country does small-scale farming to meet the needs of their families and villages. However, surrounding the city of Zara are more grand-scale farming endeavors for purposes of trade. Additionally, the city contains facilities for making paper and books on a large scale.
Trade & Transport
Stormy Point is filled with trees, but is a flat land with many rivers. Goods are transported via river when possible and otherwise by road. Imports from and exports to other countries are generally done by ship at the small port towns and the cities of Zara and Zabinamo. The sole exception is the road leading from Zara to Istiana (in Belsa) which is well kept and frequently in use.
