Draconic Accords
The Draconic Accords is a document and statement between the Dragon Rider Conclave (DRC) and various nations around the world that establishes an outline on how the DRC will function as an independent entity within and without borders.
History
The Accords were developed based on the teachings and writings by Chani Amr, the woman responsible for establishing the dragon riders as a resistance group against the Scaled Tyrant in the later years of the War of Dragons.
They were officially signed and ratified by a collection of representatives from across the world at a gathering in Corinth, the capitol of Kallistos, a year after the end of the war in 1078 AD.
Contents
The Accords include various provisions to benefit both the DRC and the nations in which they operate. It establishes that the DRC will operate as an independent organization that accepts tithes and donations, but is under no obligation to participate beyond the tenets within the Accords.
It sets them up as a group that operates to keep the wilds safe. In the aftermath of the war, much of the worlds armies were in disarray save for the allied Ahrodian forces. The DRC would patrol and tend to any monstrous or aberrant activity and avoid taking sides in any military conflict unless it directly affects specific reserve habitats outlined in the Accords for the rehabilitation of various draconic species. It outlines various territories where these reserves will be kept and where the DRC will operate their aeyries from.
It also establishes rules and conduct for dragon species, ensuring that the nations of the world do not propagate any issue to exterminate any draconic species and instead deferring to the DRC to tend to any matters that arise in draconic origin.
(There is a specific mention within these notes that exclude the jormundgandr dragons as there is nothing that the DRC or any nation can really do against them outside of avoidance.)
