Stormwarden Dragon Clutch
Roaming the Dhal continent, the Stormwardens are a collection of Dragons that have a communal nesting area somewhere deep in the Ostreign Mountains. As a collective they have barred any mortal beings from laying claim to the mountains and have done so for tens of thousands of years, though any who wish to submit to their rule and perform the proper tithes are welcome to travel or settle in their territory.
Naming Traditions
Family names
Any egg hatched in a Stormwarden nest is given the title of Stormwarden. Since eggs can take years to decades to hatch it is the responsibility of all members to tend to the communal nests, and in doing so they can be as close to the hatchlings as the mated parents.
Culture
Coming of Age Rites
When a hatchling comes of age they are traditionally given a trait-name, equivalent to a middle name in some mortal cultures. Physical characteristics, ability aptitudes, personality traits, and the home biome they were conceived in are all potential elements which might make up this name.
Ideals
Gender Ideals
Gender is intertwined with the body of a Dragon, but this results in the Dragon body reflecting the identity that is closest to the self-image. For the Stormwardens, if a Dragon shifts in their self-image it is seen as a natural process though one which is rare. It is most common for hatchlings to see shifts and changes in the first 10 years of growth, so Draconic language in the Stormwardens uses specialized pronouns which reference development stages in the young rather than a specific gender classification.
