Detective Vance Long
Vance is a long-serving Oracle detective, occasional Ark Runner, and proud father. He is a vehement defender of vigilante action in Metropolis, and has made several career-threatening pitches to support the spread of the concept to other boroughs. His son, Chase, is a bubbly, friendly young boy, with dreams of leading his own team of vigilante heroes to protect his neighborhood.
While Vance has never had any designs on being a vigilante himself, he has always loved the idea of comic book heroism, and has dedicated his career to supporting it. His outspoken defense of vigilante action cost him several promotions and his first marriage. Fortunately, his second wife, Victoria, is also a firm defender of hero culture, and supports him doing what he feels is right over doing what could make them rich. Chase gets along famously with his stepsister Cyndi, and the two of them have vowed to become heroes together.
