Alexis Jones

Alexis is on the tall side of average. Her body is more rounded than slender, evidence of a fondness for snacking while she reads.

Her face is oval shaped, with dark green eyes. There is a spark of mischief in them when she's amused.

Alexis was found on the doorstep of the Wayne Orphanage by it’s director, Susan Barry.  She was wrapped in blankets with a small card with her name written on it and nothing else.  She grew up in the orphanage, well taken care of but never really connecting to any of the other kids.  She had her nose in a book whenever she could get away with it.  The only thing as strong as her love of reading is her curiosity. She loves knowledge, which Susan fostered as best she could.  Susan introduced Alex to the local library, and as soon as she was old enough to get around by herself she learned where every other library in Olympia was.  That was how she met Lucrezia.  While others found the librarian unsettling, Alex simply found her interesting.

Alexis never connected with any of the individuals who came to the orphanage looking to adopt a child.  She ended up aging out of the system, although Susan let her stay until she was able to find her own place.

By the time she was 16, Alexis was working odd jobs for the local shop owners.  She always knew she wanted to have her own store selling books, as they were the one unmitigated source of joy in her life. Not long after turning 20 she had enough credits saved and enough connections to be able to open her shop. She found a storefront in the South Bridge neighborhood, with a small studio just above it.  The building owner, May Roberts, was a sweet older lady living alone on the top floor.  They took a liking to each other right away, and Alex was moving in by the next week.

Over the course of the next several years, Alex built her store and customer base into something she could be proud of.  She had some regular customers, and enough business to allow for the occasional splurge on something nice for herself.  One of her regular customers, Peter Benson, a reporter from the Daily Planet, fed her curiosity by sharing with her what he heard from his fellow reporters.  She was also friendly with the local Oracle, Alfred Lindon, who monitored her neighborhood. They often shared a coffee and a chat about what was happening in the neighborhood on the mornings he was patrolling her street. 

Completed the required primary education, but chose to focus on opening her store instead of going to Apollo University. Her curiosity has her constantly reading and educating herself on topics, and she is a wiz with research.
