Honey Sharpbone
Ranger-Captain Honey Sharpbone
Ranger-Captain Honey Sharpbone is a tough-as-nails veteran of the Gatewardens. In her late 30’s, Honey has survived a great deal and earned enormous respect for her deeds in defense of Olympia. She has built a legend around being extraordinarily hard to kill, and refusing to give up when there are still enemies to fight. She is passionate about defending the soldiers under her command, the Gatewardens as a whole, the Wall, and Olympia. She inspires fierce loyalty in the people that serve under her, and tends to promote or mentor those whose commitments to the organization is unshakeable.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Honey (‘That’s Captain Sharpbone to YOU, maggot!’) has been nick-named ‘She-Hulk’ by her squad, and it’s not a far stretch - standing 6’4”, and with a physique toned by both the gym and over two decades of battle, the Orc Ranger cuts an imposing figure. She’s more a striking woman than a conventionally beautiful one, with a strong chin, sharp cheekbones, and long, toned limbs that radiate power.
She dresses practically, with her only nod to dressing to impress being she favors shirts that leave her arms exposed. She wears a cowboy hat like all Rangers, hers being an old leather one she decorates with coins of the Old World (the central ‘crown jewel’ being a prized Kennedy half-dollar.) She wears it everywhere, almost never taking it off - it’s rumored that even when she sleeps, she keeps it tipped over her face in case she needs to wake up quickly in case of an attack.
She also wears her boots and spurs everywhere, and puts them to excellent use with her massive chestnut stallion ‘Bruce.’ Bruce is considered the most evil, foul-tempered brute in the Gatewardens’ stables, prone to biting people or stepping on their foot if they get too close, Honey being the sole exception. The Gatewarden stablehands prank newbies by having them take care of Bruce, and most usually beg Captain Sharpbone to tell the bad-tempered horse to ‘behave or I’ll twist your ear off.’ Every time someone tries to convince the Ranger-Captain to retire Bruce to stud and get a more manageable horse, she refuses, saying that riding Bruce into battle transforms her from a dangerous foe into a full natural disaster, and that no other beast or vehicle she could ride has ‘more chance of biting a Horror than the Horror biting them.’

Social
Contacts & Relations
Honey Sharp-bone has risen to the rank of Ranger-Captain, and strives very hard to not get promoted further - she believes that a promotion to Major would mean less leading from the front or ranging into the Wilds. She prefers to hone her squad into the most dangerous force they can be, and the ‘Sharpbone Riders’ are considered one of the most dangerous cavalry units in the Gatewardens.
Mannerisms
She likes to joke that her parents named her ‘Honey’ because they knew she’d be so sweet. Her personality is very blunt, very direct, and she’s not one to dance around what she really means. And though when it comes to the defense of Olympia and her squad, she is ruthless and uncompromising, she puts equal passion and fervor into her leisure when the opportunity arises. When she decides to cut loose and relax, she wants everyone to join in and have as much fun as possible. Whether she’s drinking, dancing, playing games, or any other means of having fun, Honey throws her whole self into it.
Likewise, in battle she is aggressive and relentless. She believes the best defense is a proactive offense, and even the whisper of a Raider Scouting party or a new Horror prowling in the wilds close to the city will have her forming a posse to hunt it down and neutralize the threat before it even sees the Gate.
