Benjamin Kotyk (a.k.a. Ben, Bigs)
Ben is a devout fisherman and lover of the simple life. Rarely does he leave the confines of the greater Demeter metropolitan area. When he does, it's usually to put his great strength to use in fighting Horrors or exploring the Wilds. Otherwise, unless hauled out of Demeter by his friends and teammates, he is content to fish all day and share or sell the fruits of his labor by night.
Ben has loved to fish since he was a boy, when his family still lived in the Wilds. After their emigration to Olympia, he had no interest in working for the fish farms of Demeter - he preferred the patient waiting and the fight over the line. He knows the ins and outs of inner Demeter like the back of his hand, and knows all the best fishing spots that don't count as poaching from the city. As a fairly powerful shaman, he is also called on by the University to serve as both survival guide and muscle for Wilds expeditions. It is on one of these missions he met the Cyclones, and became fast friends with Roxy, who is slowly introducing him to the city outside of Demeter and Lud.
