Mission Log

Stardate 81333.1 (16:00)

Having recently exited negotiations at Korvek’s, the away team recombined and began coordinated preparations. The nature of their task had escalated from political persuasion to potential urban sabotage. Given the volatile conditions of Lucifer’s Ring, plausible deniability was easily obtained.

The team approached Drekk—merchant, manipulator, and functional powerbroker of Delta-M—to compel his support in toppling Rhavik’s hold. Drekk proved reluctant; the current chaos had proven profitable. Shris proposed a counter: transforming planet in a Delta-M sector into a legitimate trade corridor between the northern frontier and the southern core. Drekk was not deceived. As he pointed out, Delta-M was effectively 60 light-years below Core Zero—difficult to sell as a hub when it lacked basic power, plumbing, or planning.

Undeterred, Lon and Berza initiated a rapid infrastructure simulation, seeding plans for modular reconstruction. Their pitch included importing prefabricated industrial nodes and decentralized civic control. Drekk accepted their data—six full PADDs’ worth—and committed to presenting it to Mayor Vorek post-negotiation. The groundwork for destabilization was laid.

Concurrently, the team procured demolitions gear in anticipation of a confrontation with Rhavik. Explosives acquired:

  • 4x MK-6 Concussion Grenades
  • 1x EMP-9B Grenade
  • 1x Ore Compressor Charge

All items priced at frontier rates, black-market adjacent. Lon would repurpose a Concussion grenade into a attention grabbing spectacle.

Contact with Vael was reestablished at the Sphincter Inn amidst a number of unsanctioned festivities. A recognised Rhavik spy was identified tailing the group. Rather than cause alarm, they relocated to an alley—Berza took point. The spy closed in, only to collide with Alissa, who had circled from the far side.

Alissa’s stun combination—precise and efficient—neutralized the agent. The team dragged him deeper into cover. Vael observed, unphased: “Another Tuesday.” When asked for assistance, his response was direct—he would “bring shiners and bumpers to Rhavik’s” and "mess things up." He took custody of the unconscious spy, promising he’d awaken hungover and humiliated after a night of “boofing.”

Addendum – Stardate 81333.4 (18:30)

The final piece fell into place—Korvek was approached to provide mercenary support. 100 GPL was transferred for temporary use of select gladiators. Shris would lead the vanguard through the service access.

Operational Plan

Primary Objective: Overthrow Rhavik’s control.

Phase 1: Staging

  • Vael’s Team (“Shiners & Bumpers”)
  • Civilian garb, covert comms.
  • Passive scanning via tricorders.
  • Alleviate security of their weaponry and comms.

Phase 2: Entry

  • Front Door: Vael’s squad with grav-sled-mounted MK-6 charge (aka flashbangs).
  • Back Access: Shris with Korvek’s gladiators (service ingress).
  • Objective: Secure control room (suggested use of EMP-9B for electronics suppression).

Phase 3: Containment & Extraction

  • (Optional) Block transport inhibitors.
  • Isolate Rhavik.
  • Record tactical data for leverage, triangulating the location of Rhavik's base.

Phase 4: Exit

  • Detonate secondary charges (symbolic and strategic).
  • Walk away without looking back, sunglasses optional.
  • Tag objects for beam-out.

Environmental Notes – Lucifer’s Ring

  • Chaotic urban design; no civic zoning or standardized infrastructure.
  • Civic systems vulnerable to tampering.
  • Civilian compliance rate with local violence is functionally apathetic.

Timeline Context

  • Two days remain before the arrival of Lt. Aze’s ally.
  • Operation occurs 1-2 days prior to anticipated reinforcements.

Summary

This operation constitutes a shift from asymmetric diplomacy to coordinated insurgency. The team has embedded themselves into the local ecosystem—through Drekk’s infrastructure files, Vael’s muscle, and Korvek’s neutrality-purchased allies. The strategic vision remains consistent: destabilize Rhavik’s network, uplift the station’s potential, and secure the region’s future under Federation-influenced control.

Pending field outcomes, further action will be logged under Mission 006.

Lucifer’s Ring Outpost — Explosives Price List (Late 25th Century, Mining/Salvage Context)

This price list reflects black-market adjacent supply chains, scaled to a semi-lawless civilian-industrial frontier zone near the edge of Federation reach. Values are calibrated to bartered energy credits (EC), salvage equivalents, and forged transponder access.
