Fillion

Scribe and steward to Baron Veylon ap Liam

Fillion is both respected and a little feared among the fae elite of Cleveland. They have outmaneuvered more than one ambitious noble who assumed the “scribe” to be an unarmed functionary. Among commoners, they are known to be approachable—though intimidating—and are thought to carry messages of great consequence for Veylon. Among Kinain, they’re often regarded as someone who will listen… but never quite speak plainly in return.

Baron Veylon's scribe is calm, deliberate, and unfailingly polite. While often reserved, they can be disarmingly candid in private moments—especially with those they trust or deem important to the well-being of the County. They are known for their incredibly neat handwriting, their expansive memory for laws and customs (fae and mortal alike), and their occasional flashes of dry wit.

Fillion dresses in precise, sharply tailored clothing, favoring elegant waistcoats, high-collared shirts, and long jackets that seem just a touch anachronistic—evocative of a librarian or scholar from a bygone era. Their ethereal Sidhe mien gives them striking features, angular and androgynous, with starlit freckles visible in the right lighting and hair that appears silver-blonde even in shadow. Their House Liam lineage is apparent not only in their poise, but in the unusual warmth behind their pale eyes.

Habits and Quirks:

  • Fillion often wears gloves and only removes them when writing or handling Glamour-touched documents.
  • They are known to read or recite poetry quietly when tense.
  • Occasionally found feeding squirrels and birds in the gardens of the Cleveland Museum of Art.
  • Keeps a discreet personal notebook that no one else has ever been permitted to read.

Legacy

Fillion serves not only as Baron Veylon’s steward but as the quiet fulcrum of many political arrangements. If one of the Kithain wants to make inroads with the Doan’s Corners Court, they’ll eventually need to speak with Fillion.
Their known duties include:

  • Reviewing formal invitations to County events (and editing them if they lack a certain finesse).
  • Delivering subtle but binding oaths on behalf of the Baron.
  • Quietly tracking the lineage and patterns of notable Dreamers, particularly artists.
  • Advising visitors how best to avoid “stepping in something diplomatic.”
