Samak was a warrior who made a discipline that was taught by the warrior that Rougeon hired to train his sons.
Ruyi is familiar with the fighting style as he has clearly run into warriors who fight like this in his raids.
When Ruyi kills the sons of Rougeon and Hazdi after they attack him, he recognizes their fighting discipline and tells Rougeon about this. This is so impressive to Rougeon that he realizes that he must hire Ruyi and embrace him even though he has killed his own son.
Rougeon's son who was killed is called Sabak.
Hazdi's son who was killed is Amir.
