Lotan

Lotan is the son of Adaph & Kjirst (Adaph's 1st wife at Battle School).
Kjirst abandons Lotan & Adaph and leaves after he is born.
Adaph remarries Zmeel and they have two other children: Adam and Kilvan.
Kilvan and Zmeel, Adam and Kilvan all move to the Valley of Alpha Wolf, while Lotan chooses to stay behind.
Eventually he is injured and cannot fight anymore so he comes to Alpha Wolf as well.
He realizes that Kilvan's son Buri has a gift and when he is 8 he takes advantage of Buri's gift for locating animals when they are about to die and he takes the skin of a Giant Wolf that he would otherwise not have been able to procure unless he was a powerful hunter, or had some sort of gift himself.
He takes this giant wolf skin to scarlet along with his story of how he got the skin and uses it to get himself into a relationship with the Queen of Scarlet. He then changes his name to Skarlaken.
